Presentation of the book “Villa de Mazarrón – Antonio Segado del Olmo / Award-winning Stories (2015-2024)”, by critic and novelist Antonio Parra Sanz. As the title suggests, the book brings together the 20 award-winning works from the last ten years of this competition, making it the fourth volume published for this purpose.

He holds a degree in Hispanic Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid and is a teacher of Language and Literature at the IES ‘Mediterráneo’ secondary school in Cartagena, as well as a teacher of Creative Writing at ISEN University Centre. He works as a literary critic for the cultural supplement Ababol, the newspaper La Verdad, and the magazine Sólo Novela Negra. He is a member of the Mandarache Project Promotion Group for Young Readers and also of ELACT (Literary Meeting of Authors in Cartagena). He is one of the organisers of Cartagena Negra (CTN). On his blog www.gomesycia.blogspot.com, he writes literary criticism and analyses current affairs in opinion pieces.

After receiving several short story awards, such as the Barcarola and Ciudad de Mula awards, Antonio Parra published his novel Ojos de fuego (Eyes of Fire), a crime novel featuring the characters Sergio Gomes and La mano de Midas (The Hand of Midas) (Murcia Book of the Year Award 2015); Acabo de matar a mi editor (I Just Killed My Editor) and Dos cuarenta y nueve (Two Forty-Nine). He is the author of the short story collections Desencuentros, El sueño de Tántalo, Polos opuestos, Cuentos suspensivos and Malas artes. He is also the author of the volumes of articles La linterna mágica (The Magic Lantern) and Butaca de patio (Patio Armchair); the essay Tres heridas (Three Wounds) (A didactic approach to the poetic anthology of Miguel Hernández); and the film script Mala reputación (Bad Reputation).

He has been a finalist and winner of numerous literary awards, and has contributed to several collective publications and anthologies.
