The museum with the family

Under the title ‘Stories of a castle’, the cultural dissemination project will introduce children to the history of the Castillo de los Vélez, an Asset of Cultural Interest that has formed part of the Mazarron landscape for more than five centuries. Through the figure of Pedro Fajardo y Chacón, first Marquis of Los Vélez, the participants will learn what life was like in these fortifications at the beginning of the 16th century.

The activity includes a digital presentation, the use of traditional tools and a hands-on experience where each child will make and paint their own wooden puppet inspired by the Marquis de los Vélez, encouraging their creativity while discovering the municipality’s past.

To ensure a personalised experience, groups will be limited to 15 children per session, who must be accompanied by an adult. Each workshop will last 90 minutes.
