An exhibition commemorating the centenary of this water authority and, specifically at this stop, the 55th anniversary of the arrival of water from Taibilla to Mazarrón and Puerto de Mazarrón.

he exhibition, consisting of twelve information panels, will cover the key milestones in the development of the MCT’s hydraulic system from 1927 to the present day. In addition, two panels are dedicated exclusively to Mazarrón, recalling moments such as the inauguration of the fountain in the Jardín de la Purísima and the festivities organised to celebrate the arrival of water in 1969 to the town centre and in 1970 to Puerto de Mazarrón.

The exhibition will be open until 12 August, with free admission, and recognises Mazarrón’s role as the municipality that promoted the creation of the MCT in 1928, and its subsequent evolution as a tourist and residential destination thanks to the development of the water supply.

With Mazarrón, there are now eleven municipalities that have hosted this exhibition, which will continue its tour on 13 August in the town of Guardamar del Segura.
