City Hall

XIX century • Directions

During XIX and XX Centuries, there is an economic resurgence in Mazarrón, linked to the reactivation of mining and metallurgic industries.

From an urban point of view, it is a great period of splendor, with several notable buildings linked to this era.

One of the buildings preserved today is the City Hall, built by Francisco Ródenas in 1889, and Francisco de Paula Oliver Rolandi, that continued the works in 1891. This architect later designed the building of the City Hall in Cartagena.

This building has three floors and a basement. On ground floor, we can see the plenary room, with decorated coffered ceiling, walls, curtains and furniture, and also the old mayor’s office. On the outside, we can enjoy the beautiful zinc cupola. The site is declared Asset Of Cultural Interest.
