The Arco Aqueduct

XVIII-XIX centuries • Directions

It is a hydraulic engineering construction, possibly from XVIII-XIX centuries, made of concrete block of lime and stone, with brick finishings on inner parts of the arcade. The aqueduct brought the water from the spring of Alamillo river to old country states around Rambla de los Lorentes, allowing irrigation in all the ancient field of the Alamillo.

The construction was in use just a few decades ago; once Alamillo run out of water, crops were also abandoned. This structure is connected to several other parts located in the area, as a single construction.
